Profile
Paperdoll is the brainchild of Anneloes van Gaalen
(1979), a writer, editor, curator, producer, and all-round
creative.
After receiving a MA and MPhil in English, American
Studies and Cultural Analysis, Miss van Gaalen started
writing for a wide variety of international publications
including Wired Magazine, Dazed & Confused, ID
Magazine, and Surface.
She’s editor-in-chief of LE COOL magazine Amsterdam,
editor of the LE COOL Amsterdam city guide, and has
produced several museum shows.
In 2006 she co-curated Dutch Masters – Street Art &
Urban Painting, the first ever museum exhibition on this
subject to be held in the Netherlands.
In the summer of 2007 she curated a show by French
street artist and photographer JR. In what was his first
exhibition in The Netherlands, JR and guest curator Miss
van Gaalen showed work in Foam Photography Museum,
as well as in the streets of the city of Amsterdam.
As a published author and experienced television and
media professional, Miss van Gaalen has worked for a
great number of broadcast companies, advertising
agencies, brands and festivals.
